Bulgaria: TPP Bobov Dol reports 87% drop in profit for H1 2024

In the first half of 2024, the Bulgarian thermal power plant Bobov Dol reported a net profit of approximately €380,000, a significant decrease from €3 million during the same period in 2023. The plant’s total revenues fell by 47% to €64.1 million, while total expenditures also decreased by 45.9% to €63.8 million.

TPP Bobov Dol, a 630 MW coal-fired power plant commissioned in 2000 and located in southwestern Bulgaria, was privatized in 2008. It is currently owned solely by the local consortium Energy MK.
