Bulgaria: Production of electricity in September

In September 2020 production of electricity in Bulgaria decreased by 6.9 % compared to August, to 3,083 GWh, while consumption of electricity also dropped by 3.4 % on monthly basis and amounted to 2,461 GWh, according to Bulgarian National Statistical Institute.

Consumption of natural gas in September 2020 increased by 9.6 % and amounted to 171 million cubic meters, while its production remained the same and amounted to 5 million cubic meters. Compared to September 2019, production of electricity decreased by 6.4 %, while its consumption fell by 1.5 %. Consumption of natural gas increased by 6.9 % compared to September 2019. In September, production of unleaded petrol remained the same as in the previous month and amounted to 91,000 tons, while its consumption decreased by 6 % and amounted to 47,000 tons. Production of diesel in September decreased by 7 % compared to the previous month and amounted to 187,000 tons, while its consumption dropped by 17.7 % and amounted to 191,000 tons. Consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) increased by 17.5 % and amounted to 47,000 tons, while its production dropped by 16.7 % and amounted to 5,000 tons. At the same period, production of solid fuels decreased by 11.2 % to 1,602 thousand tons, while consumption of this energy resource also dropped by 11.7 % to 1,649 thousand tons.
