Bulgaria, Production of electricity in April 2022 decreased by 19.9 % compared to March

According to Bulgarian National Statistical Institute, production of electricity in April 2022 decreased by 19.9 %, compared to March, to 4,119 GWh, while consumption of electricity dropped by 22.6 % on monthly basis and amounted to 2,634 GWh. Consumption of natural gas in April 2022 decreased by 42.3 % and amounted to 202 million cubic meters, while its production remained the same and amounted to 2 million cubic meters.

Compared to April 2021, production of electricity increased by 6.5 %, while its consumption dropped by 6.8 %. Consumption of natural gas decreased by 31.3 % compared to April 2021, while its production dropped by 33.3 %.

In April, production of unleaded petrol dropped by 14.8 % and amounted to 138,000 tons, while its consumption decreased by 41.5 % and amounted to 31,000 tons. Production of diesel in April decreased by 19.1 % compared to the previous month and amounted to 237,000 tons, while its consumption decreased by 26.4 % and amounted to 192,000 tons.

Consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) increased by 6.3 % and amounted to 34,000 tons, while its production remained the same at 7,000 tons. In the same period, production of solid fuels decreased by 27.8 % to 2,587 thousand tons, while consumption of this energy resource dropped by 27.8 % to 2,630 thousand tons.
