Bulgaria: Maintenance works tender for NPP Kozloduy

At the tender for awarding several contracts related to various repair works within the regular maintenance program of its two units in 2021, Bulgarian sole nuclear power plant Kozloduy said that it has received four bids. The tender, worth 24.5 million euros, is divided into three lots and is related to works on resource management and extension of the operational life of the two units, as well as repairs of equipment and pipelines to ensure their safe exploitation.

The sole bid for the first lot was placed by local company Atomenergoremont. The second lot attracted offers from local companies Dietsmann and KMS, while the third lot drew offers from Dietsmann and Atomstroy.

Originally, NPP Kozloduy had six reactors, but four older 440 MW reactors were shut down in 2007 due to nuclear safety concern of the European Union. The plant currently operates two Soviet-built 1,000 MW reactors, unit 5 and unit 6 which were commissioned in 1987 and 1991 respectively.
