Bulgaria: Kozloduy NPP restarts Unit 6 after a non-nuclear hitch

Bulgarian Kozloduy nuclear power plant reconnected its 1,000 MW Unit 6 to the grid after resolving non-nuclear technical issues, the plant operator said.
Last month, the unit was shut down due to malfunctions in the transformer oil system and indications of a coolant leak in one of the steam generators.
Following necessary repairs, the plant operator conducted tests and trials to ensure safe operation, confirmed by inspections from independent experts and the Nuclear Regulatory Agency.

Unit 6 will be loaded in stages, as per technological regulation, Kozloduy NPP added.

The power plant’s other 1,000-MW Unit 5 continues to operate according to the electricity production schedule, seenews.com reports.
