Bulgaria: Growth in electricity trading on Bulgarian Energy Exchange IBEX in June 2025

In June 2025, a total of 2,285,322.2 MWh of electricity was traded on the day-ahead market of the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX), representing a 2.7% increase compared to the previous month. The average daily traded volume for June was 76,177.4 MWh. Compared to June of the previous year, the traded volume rose by 8.6%.

The average baseload price on the day-ahead market in June was 85.28 euros per MWh, slightly down by 0.1% from May’s 85.36 euros per MWh. The average peak price was 55.38 euros per MWh, marking a 5.1% decrease.

There were 134 registered participants on the IBEX day-ahead market in June, three more than in the previous month.

On the intraday continuous market, a total of 476,253.3 MWh was traded, reflecting an 11.5% increase, with an average weighted price of 72.16 euros per MWh, which is 10.7% lower than the previous month.
