Bulgaria: Electricity trade in September on IBEX

In September 2020 on the day-ahead market of the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX), a total of 1,389,651 MWh of electricity was traded, which is 1.9 % less compared to the previous month.

Average daily traded volume in September amounted to 46,321.7 MWh. Traded volume in September 2020 was 97.3 % higher compared to the same month last year. The average baseload price on the day-ahead market in September amounted to 46.25 euros/MWh, which is 23.6 % higher compared to August (37.42 euros/MWh), while average peak price was 49.58 euros/MWh (+ 23.6 %). There were a total of 81 registered participants on the IBEX day-ahead market, the same as in the previous month. Regarding intraday market, a total of 75,422 MWh (+ 15.5 %) was traded, with the average weighted price of 48.87 euros/MWh (+ 8.1 %).
