Bulgaria: December electricity production

In Bulgaria production of electricity in December 2020 increased by 6.9 %, compared to November, to 3,888 GWh, while consumption of electricity rose by 10 % on monthly basis and amounted to 3,378 GWh, according to Bulgarian National Statistical Institute. Consumption of natural gas in December 2020 increased by 18.9 % and amounted to 384 million cubic meters, while its production dropped by 20 % to 4 million cubic meters. Compared to December 2019, production of electricity decreased by 4.5 %, while its consumption remained approximately the same. Consumption of natural gas increased by 15 % compared to December 2019, while its production dropped by 20 %. In December, production of unleaded petrol decreased by 4.3 % and amounted to 90,000 tons, while its consumption decreased by 18.4 % and amounted to 31,000 tons. Production of diesel in December decreased by 1 % compared to the previous month and amounted to 195,000 tons, while its consumption remained the same and amounted to 184,000 tons. Consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) decreased by 13.5 % and amounted to 32,000 tons, while its production remained the same and amounted to 5,000 tons. In the same period, production of solid fuels increased by 12.9 % to 2,209 thousand tons, while consumption of this energy resource also rose by 12.4 % to 2,310 thousand tons.
