Bulgaria, AE Solar will invest 150 million euros in the construction of the solar panel factory in Plovdiv

Bulgarian Minister of Energy Aleksandar Nikolov announced that German renewable energy company AE Solar will invest 150 million euros in the construction of the solar panel factory in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 2022.

Minister Nikolov said that AE Solar will be a part of a joint ventures consisting of three companies that will build the factory, without disclosing any information about the remaining two participants in the project. Annual planned production will be 1 GW in solar panels and will start production by the end of 2022.

Established in 2003, AE Solar owns the biggest solar panels manufacturing unit under one roof in Europe, located in Georgia, with more than 1 GW of total manufacturing capacity.
