Bosnia and Herzegovina: Zhongbo Group advances plans for wind farm Trebinje 1 in Republic of Srpska

The Chinese company Zhongbo Group, owned by Everest Power Private Limited, is progressing with plans to build the wind farm Trebinje 1 in the Republic of Srpska. The City Assembly of Trebinje has approved the launch of a zoning plan, marking the first official step in the project’s development.

Preliminary fieldwork and investigative studies have already been completed, and the company has received preliminary network connection approval from Elektroprijenos BiH. This indicates a strong commitment to the investment.

Trebinje’s Department for Capital Investments will oversee the preparation of the zoning document, with a focus on protecting the rights and interests of nearby residents. A key benefit for the city will be revenue from concession fees, of which 95 percent stays in the local budget, offering a potential economic boost to the community.

If realized, Trebinje 1 would mark a major step in expanding renewable energy in eastern Herzegovina, further positioning Zhongbo Group as a key player in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s green energy sector.
