The largest electricity producer in the Republic of Srpska, coalmine and thermal power plant RiTE Ugljevik, reported a loss of 11.6 million euros in the first nine months of 2025, compared to a loss of 15.3 million euros during the same period last year.
According to the company’s financial statement, total revenues for the reporting period amounted to 60.5 million euros, marking a 1.2 percent increase compared to a year earlier. At the same time, total expenses declined by 4.1 percent year-on-year, reaching 72 million euros in the first nine months of 2025.
RiTE Ugljevik, together with RiTE Gacko, plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability of the Republic of Srpska’s electricity system. This year, both plants underwent scheduled overhauls, resulting in a rare simultaneous downtime. Thermal Power Plant Gacko resumed operations this morning after completing its major overhaul ahead of schedule, with total costs estimated at around 10.2 million euros.
