Bosnia and Herzegovina: Republic of Srpska signs 30-year concession for €100 million Javor solar power plant

The Ministry of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska (RS) has announced the signing of a 30-year concession agreement for the development and operation of the Javor solar power plant in the municipality of Rogatica. The project represents an investment of nearly 100 million euros and is scheduled for completion within four years.

In May, the RS Government granted the concession to local company Elektrohertz, allowing for the construction of a 150 MW solar facility expected to produce approximately 197 GWh of electricity annually. Before the agreement was finalized, Elektrohertz paid a one-time concession fee of around 490,000 euros to the RS budget.

Once operational, the company will pay a concession charge of 0.00028 euros per kilowatt-hour of electricity generated. Of this amount, 95 percent will be directed to the municipal budget of Rogatica, helping to fund local development and public services.
