Bosnia and Herzegovina: Production of electricity in January

In January 2021 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) gross electricity production amounted to 1,161 GWh, which is by 10.9 % higher compared to January last year, when it amounted to 1,047 GWh. Net electricity production amounted to 1,095 GWh, of which 534 GWh (48.8 %) was produced in hydropower plants, 536 GWh (48.9 %) was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 25 GWh. In January, electricity imports amounted to 69 GWh, compared to 214 GWh in the same month last year, while electricity exports amounted to 355 GWh, compared to 335 GWh last January. In the same month, production of brown coal amounted to 314,621 tons, which is 14.8 % less compared to 2020 when the production stood at 369,112 tons. Lignite production in January 2021 amounted to 109,578 tons, while in January 2020 it amounted to 177,397 tons, a 38.2 % decrease. Coke production in January 2021 totaled 80,985 tons, which is 18 % more than 68,626 tons produced in January 2020.
