Bosnia and Herzegovina: Lower RES fee in RS

A decision on the amount of a fee for encouraging electricity production from renewable energy sources and high-efficient cogeneration, passed by the Regulatory Commission for Energy (RERS) in November was approved by the Government of the Republic of Srpska (RS).

The decision significantly reduced the unit fee from 0.38 eurocents/kWh to around 0.32 eurocents/ kWh. RS Minister of Mining and Energy Petar Djokic said that the reduction is around 15 %. He also added that encouraging the production of “green” energy from renewable sources is part of European policy, in which RS also participates by signing the Energy Community Treaty.

Given that the new decision applies from 1 January 2021, electricity bills for all end consumers in the RS will be slightly lower.
