Bosnia and Herzegovina, EPBiH has launched a tender for the construction of 16.22 MW hydropower plant Janjici

Bosnian state-owned power utility EPBiH announced that it has launched a tender for the construction of 16.22 MW hydropower plant Janjici, a project with estimated costs of some 62.5 million euros.

According to tender documentation, the contract entails the design, delivery of equipment, construction and commissioning of the HPP on a turnkey basis. The power plant should be completed within 49 months from the date of the signing of the contract.

The deadline for the submission of bids is 25 January 2023, while the sole criterion for the selection of best offer will be the lowest price offered.

HPP Janjici project is included in EPBiH’s 2021- 2023 business plan. The plant on the Bosna river would involve a 16-meter high dam and flood a part of the river with a series of rapids upstream from Zenica in central Bosnia, with estimated annual electricity generation of 68 GWh.

The 30 million euros loan agreement with the German KfW Bank was signed in 2014. However, in early 2022, it was reported that the bank withdrew from the financing of the project.
