Bosnia and Herzegovina: EPBiH announces prequalification for consulting services on Vlasic wind farm project

Bosnia’s state-owned power utility, EPBiH, has announced a prequalification call for consulting services related to the Vlasic wind farm project. The consultant will be tasked with providing expertise in several areas, including concept preparation, drafting technical requirements, tendering, engineering, construction supervision, commissioning, and comprehensive project management services. Additionally, the consultant will oversee ESHS (Environmental, Social, Healt, and Safety) services to ensure the project meets national regulations and international standards, as well as lender-specific environmental and social criteria.

The deadline for bid submissions is set for February 24.

In September 2024, the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament approved an agreement to finance the Vlasic Wind project with a 36-million-euro loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB). The loan has a 20-year repayment term and a four-year grace period.

The wind farm will be built on the Vlasic plateau, located in the municipality of Travnik, Central Bosnia Canton. It will feature up to 18 wind turbines, access roads, and the necessary energy infrastructure. The farm will have a total installed capacity of up to 50 MW and is expected to generate around 115 GWh of electricity annually, depending on the type of wind turbines selected. The expected lifespan of the wind farm is approximately 25 years.
