BiH: TPP Gacko completed the regular overhaul

The coal-fired thermal power plant Gacko completed the regular annual overhaul according to the planned timeline. TPP was synchronized to the network on 29 July.

The cost of the overhaul was around 7.5 million euros, including unforeseen spare parts that were not initially included in the original overhaul plan. The discovery of some equipment defects during the inspection led to the increase in the overall cost of the overhaul from 7 million to 7.5 million euros.

The financing for the overhaul was covered from the internal funds of TPP Gacko, which were budgeted for this purpose. The annual overhaul of TPP Gacko began on 23 June.

This maintenance was part of the regular overhaul, not a major capital investment aimed at replacing the existing equipment, which is planned for the capital overhaul in the future. Following the completion of the current overhaul, preparations for next year’s maintenance will commence.

In the three-year plan, a major capital overhaul of the Gacko coalmine and thermal power plant is scheduled, during which several investment projects will be implemented to extend the lifespan of the thermal power plant and improve its environmental impact, particularly concerning particle emissions from the plant’s chimney.
