Albania: ALPEX reports 82.7 GWh traded in February

The Albanian electricity exchange ALPEX reported that the total volume of electricity traded in the day-ahead market reached 82.7 GWh in February 2025, marking an 18 percent decrease from the previous month and a 6 percent decline compared to February 2024.

Of the total traded volume, 43.1 GWh was allocated to the Kosovo bidding zone and 54.7 GWh to the Albania bidding zone. The average market clearing price stood at 162.75 euros per MWh, reflecting an 11.1 percent increase from January and a 117.7 percent surge compared to February 2024.

ALPEX was established in October 2020 by Albania’s transmission system operator OST and Kosovo’s counterpart KOSTT. The exchange conducted its first Albanian auction in April 2023 and currently has 36 active members across the Albania and Kosovo bidding zones.
