Albania: Albanian subsidiary of TAP pipeline posts €76.9 million profit in 2023

The Albanian subsidiary of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), a key player in natural gas transportation, reported a net profit of €76.9 million for 2023. This marks a slight decline of 1.5% compared to the previous year. The company’s revenues dropped by 28% year-on-year to €181 million, while expenditures decreased by 38% to €103.5 million.

The TAP pipeline began delivering natural gas through Albania in 2020, with the Albanian section spanning 215 kilometers. TAP transports natural gas from the Shah Deniz field in Azerbaijan’s sector of the Caspian Sea to European markets. The pipeline connects with the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Greece-Turkey border, stretching across northern Greece, Albania, and the Adriatic Sea before reaching Italy’s coast.
