A new project in North Macedonia is set to commence for Croatian company Dalekovod, which has signed a contract with MEPSO, the country’s electricity transmission system operator, to build a major high-voltage transmission line. Dalekovod will lead a consortium including ELNOS BL from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbian Kodar Energomontaza. The €19.7 million contract covers both equipment supply and the construction of a 400 kV transmission line running from the 400/110 kV Bitola 2 substation, through the new 400/110 kV Ohrid substation, toward the Albanian border.
The Ohrid substation, currently under construction by Croatian Koncar, is a key piece of regional energy infrastructure, set to enhance the long-term reliability of the electricity system in North Macedonia and the broader region. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2028.
With this contract, Dalekovod further strengthens its position as a leading regional and European contractor in the development and modernization of electricity transmission infrastructure.
