The Bulgarian Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR) has approved a 7.88 percent increase in the wholesale natural gas price for November 2025, raising the rate to approximately 33.7 euros per megawatt-hour, excluding VAT and excise duty. This follows a smaller, 1 percent increase approved for October.
Despite the adjustment, the newly approved price remains favorable for Bulgarian households and businesses, as it is still below the average monthly index on major international gas exchanges. For comparison, October futures on the TTF gas hub in the Netherlands were around 32.5 euros per megawatt-hour.
The final price was determined after KEVR reviewed updated data from public supplier Bulgargaz. The approved pricing structure includes the full contracted quantities of Azerbaijani gas delivered through the Bulgaria–Greece Interconnector under a long-term supply agreement with Azerbaijan. These volumes continue to make up a significant share of Bulgaria’s total gas consumption, helping to ensure stable and competitive prices.
Alongside pipeline imports, Bulgargaz has also secured liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies through agreements with international traders. The LNG deliveries were obtained via a transparent tender process that established minimum price and payment conditions to guarantee cost efficiency.
With these supply arrangements in place, Bulgargaz confirmed it will be able to meet all domestic gas demand in November, ensuring uninterrupted supply for households, businesses, district heating operators, and industrial clients under existing contracts.
