Romania: ENEVO Group to build largest solar power plant in Arad Region

ENEVO Group has been appointed as the general contractor for the Helios Arad solar power plant, an ambitious renewable energy project with a planned installed capacity of 85 MW—making it the largest solar facility in the region. The project is financed by Unigea Solar Projects Romania, a subsidiary of the German-based Unigea Group.

Under the contract, ENEVO Group will oversee the construction, grid integration, and long-term operation and maintenance of the power plant once it becomes operational.

Radu Brașoveanu, Chief Technical Officer at ENEVO Group, emphasized the symbolic and environmental importance of building the solar plant on the rehabilitated site of the former CET Arad ash dump. Closed and transformed into a green space in 2014, the area is now being repurposed for clean energy production. Brașoveanu expressed optimism that repurposing former industrial lands for renewable energy projects will become an increasingly common and sustainable practice.

Unigea Solar Projects Romania specializes in the development of large-scale solar projects and is part of the internationally active Unigea Group, established in Germany in 2007.
