Romania: E.ON Energie completes rooftop solar power plant for continental automotive in Timisoara

E.ON Energie Romania has successfully completed the installation of a rooftop solar power plant at Continental Automotive’s facility in Timisoara. Continental Automotive, a prominent developer and manufacturer of advanced automotive systems, is now benefiting from this newly installed turnkey photovoltaic system.

The solar power plant, which consists of 1,440 panels, has a nominal capacity of 655 kW and is expected to generate approximately 715 MWh of renewable electricity annually. This will significantly reduce the company’s carbon footprint, with an estimated reduction of 152 tons of CO2 emissions each year.

Claudia Griech, CEO of E.ON Energie Romania, emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to helping B2B clients achieve energy independence and sustainability. She noted that the Timisoara photovoltaic project exemplifies the increasing significance of green energy and the role sustainability plays in strengthening a company’s competitive position, both as an energy solutions provider and a consumer.

E.ON managed the entire energy efficiency investment for Continental Automotive Romania, overseeing everything from consultation and custom design to the implementation and financing over 10 years. The company will also provide post-installation services and maintain the photovoltaic system under a full-service contract.
