Montenegro: Electricity bills see significant increase in November

In November 2024, the average electricity bill for households in Montenegro amounted to 37.35 euros, marking a 33.9% increase from the previous month’s average of 27.9 euros, and a 10% rise compared to November 2023, when the average was 33.94 euros. The municipality of Zabljak recorded the lowest average monthly electricity bill at 21.1 euros, while the highest was seen in Podgorica, with an average bill of 45.4 euros.

In terms of billing distribution, 58.68% of households paid less than 30 euros for their electricity consumption in November. Around 16.26% were charged between 30 and 50 euros, 18.58% between 50 and 100 euros, and 6.49% received bills exceeding 100 euros.

A total of 179,180 customers, representing about 44.9% of all consumers, received a 10% discount for timely payments. Power utility EPCG reported that households consumed 132.2 million kWh in November 2024, an increase of 8.3% compared to the same month in 2023, and a significant 31.89% rise from the previous month.
