Serbia: Transportgas and Srbijagas postpone gas hub overhaul in Vojvodina

Transportgas and Srbijagas have announced the postponement of the overhaul at the gas hub in Gospodjinci, ensuring that there will be no interruptions in gas supply for Serbia’s northern province of Vojvodina, the country’s most gasified region.

Director of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, clarified that the planned work, which involved valve replacements, was delayed until spring following public dissatisfaction, as many residents lack alternative energy sources.

Bajatovic reiterated his forecast for gas prices, predicting they will range from 35 to 45 euros/MWh. Although oil prices have declined, potentially leading to lower gas prices based on the oil formula, he expects prices to remain stable. He also noted potential transportation issues through Ukraine that could affect supply.

For businesses with variable gas prices, no significant changes are anticipated, while household prices, which are regulated, will remain unchanged. Bajatovic confirmed that gas supplies for the upcoming winter are largely secured, with ongoing negotiations for additional supplies from Russia. He expects talks with Gazprom to commence in the first quarter of next year, with only preliminary discussions taking place for now.
