Europe: Wind energy production sees mixed trends in early August

In the first week of August, wind energy production experienced divergent trends across Europe. The Italian and Portuguese markets saw notable increases in generation for the second consecutive week. Italy led with a substantial 26% rise in wind energy production, followed by an 11% increase in Portugal.

However, wind energy generation declined in several other key markets. Germany experienced the most significant drop, with a 42% decrease, marking the fourth straight week of declining output. The Spanish market saw a 9.8% reduction, while France recorded a 4.9% decrease, continuing its downward trend for the second consecutive week.

Looking ahead to the week of August 5, AleaSoft Energy Forecasting predicts further shifts in wind energy production. While Germany is expected to see an increase, wind energy generation is forecasted to decline in France, Italy, and the Iberian Peninsula, according to AleaSoft.
