Romania: Romgaz’s hydrocarbon production rises by 4.6% in H1 2024

In the first half of 2024, Romanian natural gas producer Romgaz reported a total hydrocarbon production of 16.12 million barrels of oil equivalent, marking a 4.6% increase compared to the same period last year.

Production breakdown:

  • Natural gas: 15.99 million barrels of oil equivalent (+4.3%)
  • Condensate: 136,000 barrels of oil equivalent (+50.5%)

Natural gas and electricity production:

  • Internal natural gas production: Approximately 2.245 billion cubic meters, a decrease of 4.5% year-over-year.
  • Electricity production: 450.8 GWh, down 9.4%.

In the second quarter of 2024, Romgaz produced 7.76 million barrels of oil equivalent in total hydrocarbon production. This includes:

  • Natural gas: 7.69 million barrels of oil equivalent
  • Condensate: 75,000 barrels of oil equivalent
  • Electricity production: 186.9 GWh
