Romania: Electricity production reached 15.4 TWh in Q1

Electricity consumption in Romania in the first quarter of 2024 amounted to 12.9 TWh, which is 1% more compared to the same period in 2023, according to the data published by the National Institute for Statistics.

Industrial electricity consumption reached 9.78 TWh, which is 1% more compared to last year. Household electricity consumption amounted to 3 TWh, while public lighting consumption amounted to 116.5 GWh.

In the same period, total electricity production reached 15.37 TWh, which is 2% less compared to the same period in 2023.

Electricity exports in the first three months amounted to 3.24 TWh, which is 4% more compared to the same period in 2023. At the same time, electricity imports increased by 35% and amounted to 2.28 TWh.
