Romania: An average price on OPCOM DAM reached 63.4 euros/MWh

The average price of electricity on the day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 63.44 euros/MWh in March, which is 42% lower compared to the same month in 2023 and 9% lower compared to the previous month (69.76 euros/MWh).

Traded volume in March reached 2.14 million MWh, which is 48% more than in March 2022 and 33% more than in February. The average hourly traded volume amounted to 2,875.2 MWh.

The total value of transactions in March amounted to 141.2 million euros, which is 12% less compared to March last year (159.8 million euros) and 25% more than in the previous month (112.7 million euros).

The share of the day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in March 2024 amounted to 49%.

Traded volume on the intraday market amounted to 176,491 MWh (99% more than in March 2023 and 16% more compared to February), with an average price of 62.54 euros/MWh (42% lower compared to March 2023 and 9% lower compared to the previous month).
