SEE region: Electricity prices ranged between 52 and 91 euros/MWh in week 13

In week 13 European electricity prices decreased compared to the previous week, with an average decline of 14%, due to lower electricity demand.

In the SEE region, the price of electricity on the exchanges fell in all of the markets, except in Italy where it surged by 4%. Romania and Greece registered the highest percentage decreases by 19% in both countries, followed by Bulgaria which registered lower electricity prices by 18%.

All countries in the region registered electricity price losses, with electricity prices trading below 60 euros/MWh, except Italy. Electricity prices ranged between 52 and 91 euros/MWh.

Romania recorded the lowest weekly price, at an average of 51.75 euros/MWh, followed by Bulgaria which recorded an electricity price of 51.76 euros/MWh. The Italian market registered the highest average price during week 13, with an average of 91.02 euros/MWh, followed by Turkey which recorded a price of 58.39 euros/MWh.

Weekly average spot electricity prices in Central Europe followed a downward trend during week 13. Electricity markets in Central Europe posted prices between 39-69 euros/MWh. Switzerland was the country with the highest electricity price at 68.74 euros/MWh, followed by the Netherlands which registered an electricity price of 61.37 euros/MWh. France recorded the lowest price, at 39.01 euros/MWh.
