Romania: 400 kV Portile de Fier-Resita transmission line completed

Electricity transmission system operator Transelectrica completed the construction of the 400 kV overhead transmission line Portile de Fier-Resita. The total value of the project was 30 million euros. The works were executed by Electromontaj and Romelectro

400 kV overhead transmission line Portile de Fier-Resita is the most complex, from a technical point of view, and difficult project carried out in Romania in the last 30 years, with its route crossing mostly mountainous areas, with rugged and difficult terrain.

The transmission line will be put into operation with the completion of the construction works of the 400 kV Resita substation, estimated for the second half of this year. At the same time, the new 400 kV Resita substation will enable the commissioning of the 400 kV Resita—Pancevo transmission line.

 The new 400 kV overhead transmission line Portile de Fier-Resita has a length of 117 kilometers and consists of two sections: a new construction (Portile de Fier-Anina) and the modernization of an existing line (Anina–Resita).
