FBiH Coal price for thermal power plants increased

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina approved the increase in coal prices used by thermal power plants.

They noted that by the government’s decision from December 16, 2021, this price was 5.64 KM (3.3 euros) per GJ for surface coal and 6 KM (around 3 euros) per GJ for underground coal. With the approved increase, the price will amount to 7.80 KM (3.9 euros) per GJ for the surface and 7.80 KM for coal from underground exploitation.

This decision was made at the request of Elektroprivreda Bosnia and Herzegovina (EPBiH) and request of the mine from the concern of this company. These are the Kreka, Đurđevik, Kakanj, Zenica, “Abid Lolić”, Gračanica and Banovići mines.

In the request for an increase in coal prices, it was stated that there was an increase in all operating costs and labour costs and that the prices of basic raw materials, spare parts and services also had significantly increased. It was stated that this resulted in the production price of coal being significantly higher than the selling price.
