Romania: Polenergia to acquire 60% stake in Naxxar wind project

Polenergia, the largest private energy company in Poland, announced the conditional purchase of 60% of shares in the Romanian company Naxxar Wind Farm Four. Polenergia would acquire shares in the special purpose vehicle developing a wind farm project in Romania in Tulcea county, with an installed capacity of up to 685.6 MW and with technical conditions for connection to the network.

This represents Polenergia’s first acquisition outside of Poland. The main condition precedent to the agreement is that Polenergia obtains consent for foreign direct investment. The maximum deadline for meeting these conditions is December 31 2023.

Polenergia will have the right to acquire the remaining 40% of Naxxar Wind Farm Four between 1 July and December 31 2024.
