Romania: The average day-ahead price reached 101.65 euros/MWh in August

The average price on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM reached 101.65 euros/MWh in August. That is 79% lower compared to August 2022 and 5% higher compared to the previous month (96.84 euros/MWh).

Traded volume in August reached 1.22 million MWh, which is 45% less than in August 2022 and 11% less than in July. Average traded volume in August amounted to 1,849.7 MWh/h.

The total value of transactions in August amounted to 133.9 million euros, which is by 87% less compared to August last year (1.1 billion euros) and 4% less than in the previous month (139.2 million euros).

The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in August 2023 amounted to 30%.

A total of 149,925.5 MWh was traded on intraday market in August with an average price of 105.09 euros/MWh.
