Romania: Renovatio Solar delivers PV system for KLG solar power plant

Renovatio Solar delivered a 400 kWp photovoltaic system for the Romanian unit of logistics company KLG Europe.

The investment in 888 solar panels was worth several hundred thousand euro and they are expected to operate for 25 to 30 years, Renovatio Solar said in a press release.

The panels were installed at KLG’s warehouse located in county of Giurgiu. They will generate 500 MWh of electricity per year, according to Renovatio Solar’s CEO, Horatiu Regneala.

“Recently, we have invested over 1 million euro in digitisation and sustainable initiatives, considering that in both fields the benefits that the company will register are obvious: more independence in running operational processes and significant reductions costs. Regarding investments in the photovoltaic panels, they cover approximately 40% of the energy consumed annually and are equivalent to planting 1,600 trees,” said Razvan Marinescu, managing director of KLG Europe Logistics Romania.

New PV system will reduce the company’s carbon footprint by 147 tonnes per year, equivalent to 3,675 tonnes over the next 25 years.

KLG Europe Logistics Romania is part of the KLG Europe Group and currently operates nine hubs in the country.

Renovatio Solar is part of the Renovatio Group and is active in the delivery of turnkey photovoltaic projects. Renovatio Group runs projects in Romania, Portugal and Columbia. It is also present in the markets of Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova and Italy.
