Renewables developer Eurowind Energy launched the construction of a 48 MW Pecineaga wind farm. The facility should enter operation in the first quarter of 2025 and it will generate 176 GWh of electricity per year, enough to supply up to 48,000 households. The investment amounts to 79 million euros.
Pecineaga wind farm will be Eurowind’s biggest wind project in Romania. Eurowind Energy has around a 4 GW pipeline of projects designed for Romania. The Pecineaga wind farm will complete the series of renewable energy projects developed by Eurowind Energy in Romania, including the solar power plants in Halchiu, Magurele (both built in 2013) and Pufesti (built in 2012).
In October, the company will start the construction of an agrovoltaic park developed on a plot of 80 hectares in Teius county, which will become operational in 2024. To carry out the wind project, the largest wind turbines built so far in Romania will be installed, supplied by Siemens Gamesa.
