Montenegro: Coal production reached 1.72 million tons last year

Lignite production in Montenegro reached 1.72 million tons in 2022, according to data published by the Statistics Office Monstat.

Coal volume available for final consumption amounted to 22.8 thousand tons in last year 8.3 thousand tons were used in industrial sector and remaining 14.5 thousand tons in other sectors. The majority of produced coal was used for electricity production – 1.45 million tons.
