Romania, The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the OPCOM amounted to 142.51 euros/MWh in February

The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 142.51 euros/MWh in February 2023, which is 24.4 % lower compared to the same month in 2022 and 4.64 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 136.19 euros/MWh.

Traded volume in February reached 1.55 million MWh, which is 31.96 % less than in February 2022 and 16.17 % less than in January. Average traded volume in February 2023 amounted to 2,311 MWh/h.

The total value of transactions in February amounted to 218.9 million euros, which is by 49.85 % less compared to February last year (436.5 million euros) and 24.07 % less than in the previous month (288.3 million euros).

The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in February 2023 amounted to 36.63 %.

A total of 86,752.9 MWh was traded on intraday market in February (9.26 % less than in February 2022, and 11.43 % less compared to January), with an average price of 143.75 euros/MWh (19.8 % lower compared to February 2022 and 2.32 % lower compared to the previous month).

Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in February amounted to 1.097 million MWh, with an average price of 180.55 euros/MWh.
