Bulgaria, Volume on IBEX DAM 2.59 TWh in January

The average price of electricity for base load in January 2022 on the day-ahead market (DAM) of the Independent Bulgarian Stock Exchange IBEX was 136.19 euros per MWh, which is 45 percent more than in December – 246.8 euros per MWh, according to the monthly report of the stock exchange operator.

The price for peak load at DAM also increased in January, by 46 percent, from 312.48 euros per MWh in December to 169.09 euros per MWh.

The maximum hourly price in the previous month was 362.31 euros per MWh, and the minimum was 0.01 euros per MWh.

At the same time, the total volume of trade on IBEX DAM decreased by 12 percent, to 2.59 million MWh, the same as the average daily volume, which was 83,558 MWh.

The weighted average intraday market (IDM) IBEX price decreased by 41 percent, from 237.13 euros per MWh in December to 140.27 euros per MWh in January.

The total volume at IDM in January was 185,227 MWh, which is almost the same as the previous month, according to the IBEX monthly report.

In a separate statement from the stock exchange operator, it is emphasized that on Saturday, January 4, a new daily trade volume was set on IDM since the launch of the market – 100,126 MWh, for delivery on Sunday.
