Romania, Romgaz is expected to purchase up to 300 million cubic meters of gas from the SOCAR

Romanian state-owned natural gas producer Romgaz is expected to purchase up to 300 million cubic meters of gas from the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) for the period between 1 January and 1 April 2023, with daily deliveries of up to 4.2 million cubic meters.

The volumes will be delivered from Turkey to the Greek virtual trading point (VTP) to be further shipped to Bulgaria via Greece-Bulgaria interconnection and reversed into Romania at the Negru Voda 1-Kardam interconnection point on the Trans-Balkan corridor.

It is unclear whether the gas will be sourced in Azerbaijan or are of Russian origin purchased in Turkey, and delivered forward to Europe.
