Romania, Rompetrol Rafinare recorded a net profit in the amount of 161.2 million dollars in the first nine months of 2022

Rompetrol Rafinare, a member company of the KMG International Group, recorded a net profit in the amount of 161.2 million dollars in the first nine months of 2022, compared to a loss of 57.8 million dollars in the same period last year.

The statement from the company said that good financial is mainly due to higher market quotations. Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to 327 million dollars in the January-September 2022 period, compared to 87 million dollars in the same period in 2021. Gross revenues rose to 4.87 billion dollars compared to 3.28 billion a year earlier.

In the first nine months of the year, Petromidia Navodari refinery processed over 3.8 million tons of raw materials, compared to 3.32 million tons in the same period of 2021, achieving a production of approximately 1 million tons of petrol and 1.97 million tons of diesel and jet A1 fuels. More than 60 % of fuel sales were concentrated on the domestic market.

At the same time, Vega refinery, which produces bitumen and hexane, processed 267.7 kilotons of raw materials in the January-September 2022 period, compared to 227 kilotons a year earlier.

The refining segment’s gross turnover reached almost 1.6 billion dollars in Q3 2022, respectively 4.16 billion dollars in the first nine months of 2022, and an operational profit (EBITDA) of about 343 million dollars in the January-September 2022 period.

The consolidated gross turnover for the distribution segment was 2.93 billion dollars in the first nine months of the year. The operational profit (EBITDA) amounted to 41.4 million dollars in January-September 2022, while the net result was a positive one, of about 1.7 million dollars.

The total quantities of fuel sold by Rompetrol Downstream in the January-September 2022 period were 1.7 million tons, down in wholesale sales, but with a 3 % increase in the retail segment.

At the end of September 2022, Rompetrol Downstream’s distribution segment comprised 1,235 sales points, including the network of own stations, partner stations and mobile stations, increasing by 56 units from the number recorded at the end of September 2021.
