Bulgaria, Production of electricity in the period between 1 January and 4 September 2022 has increased by 14.84 %

According to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, production of electricity in Bulgaria in the period between 1 January and 4 September 2022 has increased by 14.84 % compared to 2021 and reached 35.41 TWh.

In addition, Bulgaria’s electricity consumption rose in the same period, by 0.02 % reaching a total of 26.14 TWh. Surplus electricity amounted to 9.27 TWh so far in 2022, 97.2 % more than in the same period in 2021. Baseload power plants (coal, nuclear) produced a total of 29.8 TWh of electricity in 2022, which is 21.2 % more than in 2021.

The share of electricity produced from renewable EV energy sources (RES) in the transmission network E rose by 24.39 % to 1,095.3 GWh, while RES share NT in the country’s distribution network increased by S 14.48 % to 1,578.1 GWh.
