Croatia, A total volume of 386,052.3 MWh of electricity was traded on the in May

A total volume of 386,052.3 MWh of electricity was traded on the Croatian energy exchange CROPEX in May 2022, which is 31.4 % less than in April, of which 344,993.2 MWh on the day-ahead market and 41,059.1 MWh on the intraday market. Traded volume in May 2022 was 18.4 % lower compared to the same month last year.

Average daily base price on day-ahead market in May amounted to 202.03 euros/MWh, which is 5 % higher than in the previous month, while average euro-peak price reached 199.32 euros/ MWh, 4.1 % higher compared to the previous month. The average price on the intraday market was 198.94 euros/MWh, 9.1 % higher compared to April.

There are 26 participants on CROPEX day-ahead market (one less than in the previous month), eighteen of which have been active on the intraday market as well. Average daily traded volume on the day-ahead market in May amounted to 11,128.8 MWh.

CROPEX was launched on 11 March 2016 in cooperation with Nord Pool, Europe’s leading electricity exchange, and is co-owned by the Croatian electricity transmission system operator (HOPS) and the Croatian electricity market operator (HROTE). Intraday market was launched in April 2017. On 19 June 2018, after joint project of Croatian and Slovenian transmission system operators and power exchanges, CROPEX day ahead market was successfully coupled with MRC markets through Croatian – Slovenian border.
