Hungary, ID Energy Group has sold 14 operational solar power plants

ID Energy Group announced that it has sold 14 operational solar power plants in Hungary to Danish renewable energy company Obton, thus increasing the company’s Hungarian portfolio by around 10 MW.

ID Energy General Manager for Hungary and Southeastern Europe Francesco Cortesi said that this is an important milestone for ID Energy Group as it represents the first sale of operational solar assets in Hungary. After the sale, ID Energy Group will carry out the operation and maintenance of the sold projects.

He added that the divestment of this operational portfolio is aimed to provide the company additional resources to further develop its greenfield pipeline. ID Energy Group currently has a pipeline of 250 MW of solar projects in advanced stage in Hungary with many of them expected to reach ready-to-build stage by the end of 2022.

Currently, ID Energy Group is one of the main O&M providers in the Hungarian market and it is managing more than 100 MW in the country.

Last year, Chinese solar project developer ReneSola completed the sale of 12.3 MW in solar power plants in Hungary to Danish Obton. It includes a total of 20 solar power plants located in Sarbogard, Komlod, Szajol, Lukacshaza and Torokszentmiklos. The projects all became operational in 2020 and qualify under Hungary’s 25-year feed-in-tariff scheme. Previously ReneSola sold to Obton 25 solar parks which are under construction, with a total installed capacity of 15 MW.
