Serbia, Increase in coal production expected by the end of March

The conclusion of the latest session of the Working Group for Monitoring the Security of Supply of Energy and Energy Sources is that an increase in the production and supply of coal is expected by the end of March.

At the session, the situation in the gas sector in Serbia was considered as well and it was concluded that the supply of the local market is stable, whereas the delivery of heating energy to users of central heating is carried out without major problems.

The Special Adviser to the Minister of Mining and Energy Petar Stanojevic said that, when it comes to gas supply, the market in Serbia was fully secure thanks to the agreement with Gazprom and added that there was no fear that the oil suppliers will stop supplying oil. He added that Serbia had reserves of diesel and petrol fuel for two months, of mazut for five to six months and of kerosene for about four months, provided that the supply is not possible, which is not the case at the moment.

Stanojevic said that there are also crisis plans when it comes to getting oil and gas, but these are not taken into consideration for now, because there is not a single indicator that we are entering a crisis state. Crude oil arrives to Serbia from the Middle East, from Iraq, and that direction is not jeopardized by the conflict in Ukraine, and there are also reserves of oil and oil products in the country.
