Greece, Country had the most expensive prices on the day- ahead market in Europe during August

Greece had the most expensive prices on the day- ahead market in Europe during August, reaching an average of 121.7 euros/MWh.

Romania followed with an average of 112. 7 euros/MWh, while Italy was ranked third with an average of 112.4 euros/MWh in August. Bulgaria follows with 111.55 euros/MWh, then Serbia (109.65 euros/MWh), Hungary (109.02 euros/ MWh) and Portugal with 105.99 euros/MWh). France recorded Europe’s lowest day-ahead market average in August with 77.3 euros/MWh.

Experts have already warned that day-ahead electricity price levels will also be extremely high in autumn and winter.

August day-ahead market prices in Greece peaked at 142 euros/MWh, while the lowest level recorded was 100.56 euros/MWh.

For the first day of September day-ahead price stood at 123.43 euros/MWh, which is a 5.5 % decrease compared to the previous day.
