Greece: Wind and solar capacity plans until 2024

Greek Regulatory Energy Authority (RAE) will present a plan to offer a total of 2.1 GW in wind and solar capacity at tenders that will be organized until 2024, offering 350 MW capacity per each tender.

Current RES rendering scheme expired at the end of 2020, and Greece is in talks with the European Commission for the extension until 2024.

2.1 GW of capacity will be offered in mixed tenders, which will seek to award both wind and solar projects. The first tender will be held this autumn.

The new version of RES tendering scheme will contain an additional 1 GW slot for special category of renewable energy projects such as small-scale projects with capacity of up to 1 MW. A portion of the extra capacity is believed to be set aside for schemes in RES saturated areas, including Cyclades, Crete, Evia and Peloponnese.
