Bosnia and Herzegovina: Production of electricity in FBiH in March

In March 2021 gross electricity production in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) amounted to 918 GWh, which is by 26.5 % higher compared to March last year, when it amounted to 726 GWh. Net electricity production amounted to 862 GWh, of which 408 GWh (47.3 %) was produced in hydropower plants, 423 GWh (49.1 %) was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 31 GWh. In March, electricity imports amounted to just 14 GWh, compared to 68 GWh in the same month last year, while electricity exports amounted to 538 GWh, compared to 275 GWh last March. In the same month, production of brown coal amounted to 367,789 tons, which is 1.5 % less compared to 2020 when the production stood at 373,556 tons. Lignite production in March 2021 amounted to 145,111 tons, while in March 2020 it amounted to 151,114 tons, a 4 % decrease. Coke production in March 2021 totaled 78,903 tons, which is 6.3 % more than 74,253 tons produced in March 2020.
