Croatia: Production of electricity in February

In Croatia net electricity production in February 2021 amounted to 1,541 GWh, which is 46.5 % higher compared to February last year, when the production amounted to 1,052 GWh, according to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics. During February, 933 GWh of electricity or 60.5 % was produced in hydropower plants, 364 GWh or 23.6 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 164 GWh or 10.6 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 943 GWh of electricity, 10.8 % more compared to last February (851 GWh), while elec-tricity exports stood at 1,000 GWh, over two times more than in February 2020 (423 GWh). Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 63 million cubic meters of natural gas in February 2021, 19.2 % less compared to February last year. Natural gas imports stood at 164 million cubic meters, 2.5 % more than in February 2020. Crude oil production stood at 42,000 tons, which is 12.5 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at just 16,000 tons in February 2021, compared to 31,000 tons in the same month last year.
