Bosnia and Herzegovina: Production of electricity in February

In February 2021, gross electricity production in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) amounted to 1,060 GWh, which is by 24.6 % higher compared to February last year, when it amounted to 851 GWh. Net electricity production amounted to 1,007 GWh, of which 564 GWh (56 %) was produced in hydropower plants, 421 GWh (41.8 %) was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 22 GWh. In February, electricity imports amounted to just 10 GWh, compared to 294 GWh in the same month last year, while electricity exports amounted to 561 GWh, compared to 369 GWh last February. In the same month, production of brown coal amounted to 321,700 tons, which is 15.3 % less compared to 2020 when the production stood at 379,841 tons. Lignite production in February 2021 amounted to 143,813 tons, while in February 2020 it amounted to 163,386 tons, a 12 % decrease. Coke production in February 2021 totaled 71,129 tons, which is 11.5 % more than 63,810 tons produced in February 2020.
